Anyone here used Amitriptyline, especially as treatment for Fibromyalgia, which is similar to ME. Himself has sceollosis (not spelt right) and Ruthmatologist clinic was told he suffers from FM and the sympthons he has do coincide with those of FM.

Main thing for him he was very relieved to hear he didn't have bowel cancer or worse things like that but has been prescribed a 3 month course of Amitriptyline 25mg, one a day, but after taken the first one felt very drowsey and dopey today.

What Doctors Don't tell you.

http://www.xyroth-enterprises.co.uk/amitript.htm

Trials carried out:

http://rheumatology.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/ken31 etc ...

Makes for scary reading, and imo he can well manage without this drug especially now that he has no other serious illness to face.

Panic attacks will always be with him but that's a different story. He has only taken two tablets so far, but it can take days or weeks to get the full benefit, but even far longer to get them out of your system and at what cost then, no one knows.

As a treatment for FM what does anyone think or has been your experience of the use of this drug.

Good scrabble score.

In fairness, it sounds serious. I haven't known anyone with that condition.

See what thought did - ate the handle of the brush thinking it was a sugar stick!
See what thought did - pissed the bed and thought he was sweating!!!

Riot and Blanch don't belong in the same sentence.

Riot lives in the salubrious luxury of Dublin 9!

What does salubrious mean, does anyone know?
