Planning to head into central Dublin this saturday at around lunchtime and will probably stay in there until 7.00.

Anyone know a website that gives me how much each car park location charges or do they all (more or less?) charge the same?

Any car park doing any special offers?.. I know that Jervis Street for example used to have a reduction if you bought a certain amount of shopping in Tesco in there...

I know I can park in the red cow luas station and get the luas in but I'd like to have the car nearer just to throw my shopping in it, as don't want to carry the bags around especially as I am heading off for dinner around 5.30.

So if I am going to have the car parked in there for 6 hours is there any reasonable way to do this?

Michael.

Wow. Is all this really worth the 50 cent you might save?

It's not just about saving a small bit of money- I think we should all vote with our feet (in this case our wheels) and no point in paying over the odds for a service if you can get it cheaper, just a bit down the road.

Of course too, there might be large differences (even though I doubt it!) betweeen carparks and the information would be handy to know.

Most of the carpark websites just give capacity and opening hours, not price which is annoying!.

The car parks are expensive, why not park on the central island in O'Connell street,if the clampers or guards ask, just tell them I said it's o/k.
Connolly Station might be a cheaper option,in any event, dont leave shopping on view in your car.

If you're coming from Kildare you should get the train. It'll be a much more pleasant experience, unless of course you're shopping for a garden shed or cement or summink.

Jeez, I know things are bad in Grafton Street, but who is selling garden sheds and bags of cement? Do they have a sale on at the moment?

Joking aside I bring the car as it's handy to lock away shopping securly in the boot and of course the convenience of having the car.

Taking the luas leaves me without the car, even though someone suggested parking free (?) in Collins Barracks museum, so same problem.

Best suggestion so far is Arnotts http://www.buy4now.ie/Arnotts/content/Car%20Park/524 special offer, so might try and get in there early.

Michael.
