The Frontline, Primetime and the Late Late aren't dramas and as such actors and their fee aren't involved.
Eastenders, Madmen, even Killinaskully etc are all dramas but are made by companies outside of RTE. The dispute is between RTE and equity. When RTE buy in Mad Men or Eastenders etc, the royalty fees would be built into the price they pay for the show as a package. With Fair City they make it themselves and as such the actors are on the RTE payroll. And they don't want to pay extra to the actors for online broadcasts which Equity aren't happy about. So it was taken off RTE player till an agreement is reached.
This is what I read anyway, a few weeks back in an OP ED piece on the web. Can't remember what site I read it on.
