Hey guys,

Have very, very recently accepted my sexuality. Have no idea how to go about meeting other gay people. Feel like the awkward new kid in school looking to make mates. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks a million in advance!

It's a weird feeling innit?

Just came out to myself last year, and fell onto this site this March right before a meet. Loads of good people around! Good advice, good debates and good craic. There's a meet Saturday coming http://www.gaire.com/e/f/view.asp?parent=1527476

I met a lot of the people on the scene I know at this, everyone was really welcoming! Feel free to mail anyone organising it, or ANYONE here, bout it!

And welcome!

eimsdub, at every meet there's always new people, by the time you go to your second one you'll be encouraging new people to come to their first one.

I posted the exact same thing in March! (well except the girl thing)

Screw it if its scary, its something new, it will be a bit nervewrecking for a while... but ya talk to people for a few minutes and its all good! But stay away from Erytheis..... she starts humping after a few packs of skittles!

Outside of us there are plenty of groups etc to get to know people.

Outhouse run a lot of groups.
Gloria choir, gay drama group.
If your sporty... Frontrunners, Wetnwild (search on fb) adventure group, out4tennis, in4squash, a football team (I think)
etc, etc... There's lots out there, you'll slowly find out what's there!

Welcome Eimsdub We're a great bunch of lads n' lassies... I fully agreee with previous posts and reckon you should pop along to the next gaire meet, always better to put faces to the names. Trust me, you'll have a blast! Come along, do the rounds and I have no doubt you will not regret it.

Of course if meeting fab people isnt your thing, Im sure there are plenty of other places to meet people in Dublin (others would be better at directing to such venues than myself).

Stick around and have fun...
