It's back! Members now have another opportunity to win our exciting Firestarter Competition. To enter you simply need to start some Hot Topics. At the end of each month, the five members who've started the most Hot Topics will be eligble to win.

Of these five, the member whose topics had the most unique participants will be declared the winner. Basically, it won't be possible to win by starting lots of topics that only you and a friend respond to.

You can keep track of the competition by clicking Stats in the message boards menu above or Hall of Fame in the left hand menu.

The winner will be announced on the first Monday of each month.

The Prize

The prize is a £25 Amazon UK voucher or 6 months full membership. Plus, more importantly, a snazzy badge underneath your avatar!

Guidelines

The competition will run indefinitely and I must ask members not to disrupt new and existing topics with chatter about the competition. These posts will be removed by myself and the moderators. Repeat offenders may be banned / disqualified from the competition for some time.

You can of course talk about the competition in this topic but please try to keep it positive and helpful. After all, nobody wants to read snarky comments everytime someone starts a new topic that may or may not be part of the competition.

As previous winners can re-enter, multiple winners will have a discreetly animated badge that loops through the various months they won.

Rules

Chat / Quizes topics are not eligible.

As topics are constantly being added to, the cutoff point will be midnight before the results are announced.

Members who create duplicate accounts to fluff their topics will be permanently disqualified from the competition and temporarily banned.

Presumably yourself and the moderators are not eligible then?

I'm not eligle but other mods can enter if they wish. All mods will be doing is removing snarky off-topic comments along the lines "oh look who's trying to win firestarter ..." etc. Nobody wants that in their topic.

I am surprised no one has come up with the "Gaire Message Board is 9-year old this month" thread yet.

This was a fantastic idea first time around and already I've seen the benefits with some who have rarely posted topics before taking the leap in there with very positive results.
As my forte is chats/quizzes I can already hand in my omission slip from this competition, best of luck to the rest of you and to the board itself.
