I've had 3 hookups with 2 men from gaire. One cute the other not. Both middle-aged. I've had more luck on gaire this year than gaydar. So I guess that is an improvement. I've also found that being able to chat online with other LGBT people makes me feel less lonely after my former close platonic gay friend Colm dropped me last April.

You should, if you get the oppertunity, join us at one of the regular meets. Its a great oppertunity to put faces and personalitys to names as well as increasing your circle of friends. People are very welcoming and go out of their way to make newbies feel welcome.

Thanks Gorgonzola. Haven't plucked up the courage yet. Too anxious.

I can imagine that the initial jump can be quite daunting.
I think that a night or weekend away in the 'big smoke' (noth dublin 4 ) would be really good for you.
Its always good fun.

The site has definitely broadened my horizons. It's given me different perspectives on gay life, fleshed out a view of modern Ireland, challenged beliefs and assumptions I've held, made me think, irritated me at times, thrown light on what is and isn't important in this life, made me laugh...
There is no other gay site I've ever been on where there is such a wide range of subjects being discussed daily. Bravo.

Gaire is a wonderful place. I've met some amazing people through here. I'm not sure if it's changed my life, but it's certainly plays a nice part in it. It's always nice to log on for 10 minutes and have a catch up of the threads.

you'll always be a murderer to me!

I love Gaire. The people on here have helped me through some pretty shitty stuff. I've made friends, had fun nights out and even had some trips away with some members

Gaire has really changed my life for the better , like most of us the vast majority of my mates are straight men , and for a long time my only contact with my gay brethren was one night stands and the like.Queers were 2 dimensional to me because I never got to see me own kind in the context of everyday life.Gaire let me see the human side of gays.Made and continue to make some great mates, and shock horror ,Gaire show me i wasnt the only gay who had a life, opinions, sense of humour and above all, terrible photogenic qualities

LONG LIVE GAIRE!!!!!

No, unfortunately I just haven't had that many of them!

Of course, one must question how many you've had to reach the jaded stage....

Well, if they ever stop being fun, then you've had enough to be jaded.
