Do you honestly think people deliberately WANT to act like stereotypes? That it's something you decide one day? "Oh, I'm going to act like the stereotypical homosexual today. Screw this, I need a bit more colour in my life!".
Nobody ever decides to be flamboyant, or camp, or expressive. It's in their personality from a young age, chances are they were like that as children too, the only thing is that some people have to oppress it for various reasons. Hence why it annoys me when the "butch gays" act patronising or superior to the other end of the spectrum, it's fucking bullying picking on or discriminating against people solely for being what they are.
It's cool if you fancy butch guys. I do too. But when people start to look down their nose at those who are opposites to them, that's when I have a problem. Regardless if we fart out glitter or shit out car engines, we're all still a part of the LGBT minority in Ireland. We should be working together to dispel any negative attitudes towards the gay community rather than turning on our own.
