Homoprejudice Research

# 1 : Friday 30-11-2012 @ 13:57

Hi,

My name is Daniel Maguire and I'm doing some research into attitudes towards homosexuality. Specifically, it is examining the current levels of prejudice against homosexuals by heterosexual males, and also looking at whether or not homosexual males have an accurate perception of the level of that homoprejudice.

I was hoping some nice people on Gaire would like to complete a quick online survey about what they think straight men's attitudes towads gay men are. Participation should only take about 5 minutes and is completely anonymous. Participation is also rewarded by optional entry into a draw to win one of two €25 One 4 All vouchers.

The link for homosexual men can be found here:

Thanks,

Daniel Maguire

Straight males would also be great, but that's a seperate survey.

Any straight guys should complete this one below. Again, it should only take 5 minutes and there's a draw for one of two €25 One 4 All vouchers.

Just wait till you're over 60, you'll be in the most ignored demographic! You might as well not exist as far as statitiscians are concerned!

Wheelie bin, you're dead right! Can't believe I haven't spotted that already, or that someone else hasn't pointed it out yet.

Sorry about that, fixed now

Thanks, Researching. Really appreciate it. Presumably you're researching something, what might that be?

If anyone knows how to access more gay men I'd love to hear suggestions. I've tried LGBT societies in colleges but most are reluctant to get involved with research, especially about prejudice.

Done.

If you want more responses (and if you haven't done this already), you could do worse than get on to a few of the groups on the country scene. They might include it in their e-newsletters.

For example:

They have links to other such groups here:

Just an idle wondering. Has there been any prejudice by gay people against gay people? Or straight for that matter. Though rare, perhaps, people are people. Depends on the situations I suppose. Being very self conscious, even paranoid at times, I sometimes weigh some maybe innocent remark for any anti-gay sentiments.

I wouldn't be surprosed if members of lgbt socs felt they were over-researched, and were approached by every student doing a study.
