I'm blue in the face talking about it personally. Apparently if you're not completely "ah god bless the two of them with all this exposure", it means you're in favour of them getting bullied. Ridiculous.
We live in an era where even a 4 year old knows what Twitter is or Facebook, modern society leans heavily on how accessible the internet and social media is. Everything and anything can be shared in less than a minute, and I'm sure both of these individuals knew that by hooking up so publically (I wouldn't even mind if it was somewhere secluded but next to an area that you KNOW will be busy like a toilet??) in plain sight would result in someone taking their phone out. They must have known there'd be ramifications for their behaviour..
I'm not saying SHE deserves to be bashed and judged for it, I'm saying BOTH of them do. Whether it's a man and a woman, or two people of the same sex, it's still an act of stupidity and both people involved should have enough fucking cop on to know better than to behave that way in public.
Excellent post, and it saves me from having to write a big long thoughtful one of my own.
Lets be clear, slut-shaming, tagetting the girl for abuse whilst ignoring the male is stupid and a symptom of our backward fucked up attitudes to sex but that does not change the fact that both individuals in this picture deserve criticism.
What they did was firstly a crime. A criminal act. Secondly it was incredibly stupid. Third it is was kinda gross.
To those talking about privacy... I am afraid in my opinion there is no issue of privacy here. While the act being done is one traditionally thought of as private (and for good reason) there is nothing remotely private about the way they have conducted themselves. You can't shit on the street and cry privacy when people complain about the smell.
