No need for a taxi, there's a train going there.

It is definitely worth a visit, I got a taxi there and back from Krakow, Just ask a few for quotes. The whole place is very disturbing, the most disturbing thing that is happening now is most people ignore it and the consequences of ignorance is things like racism, Brexit and le Pen.

I don't know how you can compare Brexit and the Holocaust. One was the democratic will of the people and the other most certainly wasn't. Anyways, We're going to go. It's a short train ride away.

I would not regard that as comparing Brexit and the Holocaust.

you can book a guided tour from krakow - the trip and the tour [in your chosen language] will be part of this package -this is what i did: it took 1.30 hour to get there in a mini bus.
i'm glad I went. yes, seeing the remains of the victims [hair and suitcases] was a sobering experience to have, the sight of the gas chambers were chilling. however to me, the worst was to stand on the long platform in nearby birkenau [a few miles away, 5-10 minutes in the mini bus] - this is where so many people came from all over europe to get off the train and be killed.

Taxi between the two of us, was only about 10 more than the tour, which I thought was well worth it, had to ask a few taxis for quotes.

A friend of mine was saying that they witnessed a guy being asked to remove a Tshirt on entry that said "Shit happens, Get over it!".

I went to Sachsenhausen concentration camp outside Berlin with my brother in law who is German. It was horrifying.
