Just had a convo with a friend discussing suicidal thoughts. I'm wondering how many of you have considered suicide?

Given the topic I'll add a poll as I'd assume there'd be many who would not want to post on this.

yeah, was very suicidal when i was younger. thought long and hard about it. came very close aswell. the will to live eventually outweighed the will to die. thankfully. if it wasnt for some close friends though i dont think i'd be here today.

I attempted it twice when I was in my late teens. I am not proud of it but it happened. I am a better person for it if that makes sense.

If I am honest, I have considered it many times. Especially in my teens.

I tried it twice too.

I have had suicidal thoughts sometimes in the past, and even a few recently, but i have dealt with those issues, and i'm on a btter path now!

I got myself into a terrible situation in college in the uk a few years back, was at my lowest ever, days seemed forever the impending outcome of the situation as I seen it..all had me in such a tizzy I did for just a brief few hours think about doing it. But Thankfully I had great friends that sensed something up and helped me get through it, they are still my stalwaths to this day. I've always been of the mind since that a problem shared is indeed a problem halved.

I went through a really tough time after my brother was killed...I had just turned 14...and I did contemplate suicide...I was guilt ridden and depressed and had so much hate in me...I bottled everything up and I did think that it was the way to go to end all my pain.
In the end I found a less 'final' way of letting the pain etc out...which in hindsight wasn't the best thing to do...but I just knew I couldn't take my own life...I couldn't put my parents through losing another child.

I remember being at the point to Suicide when I was 17, with the medicine in one hand and ready to take it. I didn't do it as an aquantance who was passing my door at that exact point rang my doorbell and asked me to go for a drink.

I wonder if it was fate or luck? However I am glad I didnt do it.

Yep have to say I do.. NO idea how to do it but, I do think of it often like in the way someone thinks "the game is over" Can I just restart again. that sort of dishearten feel you get when you are losing the game.

(yes I believe in re carnation, simply because it helps me)

But most of the times I can look around and see things that are so wonderful, and when i see them I don't have the courage to die, or the intention too because life is mine and if things can be wonderful then so can I.

Does this make any sense at all??

I used to think I was worthless and would never amount to anything. I guess I just thought my friends and family would be better of without me but I got the help I needed. My dad had died when I was 14, I was being bullied in school and I had realised I was a Lesbian. As well as my dad dying, his mother and brother had died within a week of each other. Instead of talking about it I just bottled it all up and when I hit 18 it just all blew up.

Thought about it when i was younger, very rarely now,you just look back at what you would have missed if you had done it,and it's a rotten thing to just dump all your problems on your family and friends, and to leave them feeling guilty is wrong.

tried unsuccessfully when I was younger a few times.
I still consider it daily but its not an option so it doesn't matter.
