I would love to hear it wasn't true but I found the following posting on a famous five fansite forum that was asking what the original actors were up to now, in particular Michele Gallagher who played George:
"I knew Michele personally from around 1981 until her death. She had fallen into a very bad lifestyle after being involved in a motorcycle accident which left her partly disabled. She eventually took her own life around 2000. Her ex partner and son (who is approx 22) I believe live on the south coast. Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news, but she would have been very touched that she had so many fans"
I could find nothing that either backed that up nor disproved it so as I said, I would love to find out it wasn't true.
I just loved their secret meetings, that annoying bitch (Susan?) who was always meddling and the whole postcard fifties set up.
Susie, that's right..., Jack's sister. Horrid cow she was!....hmm, we'll probably get a ticking off for talking about the Secret Seven in a Famous Five thread!
Seems like she isn't dead, or your man who played Julian would be hearing about it at those Famous Five conventions (dear God, there are famous five conventions!!) ......
There just seems to be no other detail about it - hearing she disappeared completely doesn't bode well. the other actors could have fallen completely out of touch with her and be as much in the dark as the rest of us.
My sister lives very near Wallingford in Oxford. I recall all the famosu Five stories. Loved them. I laso loved the Secret 7 as well. Susie was a right lil raving bitch, would have loved to have given her a slap or too, I also loved scamper the dog a spaniel.
