Flash Mobs

# 1 : Saturday 17-1-2009 @ 22:25

I'm not sure if any of you caught the new T-Mobile ad during Celebrity Big Brother this week featuring a flash mob dance at Liverpool Street Station in London. It involved 350 people dancing randomly to a series of songs. By the end, the whole station is dancing.

There was also a similar flash mob in New York a few years back where 200 people froze in Grand Central Station.

Would you partake in something like this if it happened where you live? It looks like fun and the organisers say it's an expression of freedom!

I think that happened in the George last weekend when I was forced to visit the place. a few 100 teenagers wearing tight tee-shirts started screaming, clapping camply and dancing when a Kylie tune came on......

Absolutely, being self concious and expected to dance is total hell, not being so is total heaven, the best fun anyone can have without taking their clothes off.

yeah but one like at Grand Central Station would be deadly, plus in a flash mob you'd be more going wild and having fun than actually "dancing" so it'd be cool

BBC3 did a flash mob opera in a train station about four years ago, it was very good.

Basically what I am saying is, flashmobs are very 2005.

Seems to be a lot of cameras in these things. Hmmm.

Well, considering the top video was actually a TV commercial, I'd think cameras were necessary. The supermarket video used 5 cameras. I think all cameras are hidden, so not to influence the reactions from the crowd.
