A friend of mine had a status update which asks:
How long should you be dating someone before you can officially call them boyfriend/girlfriend... what is the 'criteria' you go by?
Now, she was asking in terms of straight relationships. Here, on Gaire, I'm going to broaden the scope a bit to include ALL types of relationships.
There are plenty of people who have 'f*ck buddies', and would not say that they were 'girlfriends/boyfriends.'
Similarly, in open relationships, some people are not the 'official partner', and so on.
It is totally different for a teenager as opposed to an adult. The criteria differs according to the people concerned.
How long would you be seeing /sleeping with the other person before deciding on it being a relationship and being partners?
What are the criteria you would go by?
