iPad has Wi-Fi problems, some users say

I have noticed that if I hibernate it (turn off screen), leave it for a while and then turn it back on the wi-fi is gone and I have to reassociate it in preferences again. This is an intermittent problem and only an irritation for me. I fully expect a firmware update will fix the problem.

Flash is, unfortunately all in Adobe's court. Apple wanted them to properly port it to the iphone OS but seemingly they rushed a sloppy version that is a power hog.

Although Flash is widely adopted to date, more and more content providers (google / youtube) are dropping it in favour of other protocols like html5.

Needless to say Adobe are quite worried about it.

Apple confirms iPad Wi-Fi issues, suggests fixes

http://www.macworld.com/article/150444/2010/04/ipadwifi.html

"Some tips are more useful than others—one of the suggested solutions to correct a weak signal is to “[m]ove closer to the Wi-Fi router or hotspot.” "

Hopefully Apple can fix the problem with a software update, otherwise they're going to have a lot of returns to deal with.

I love the battery replacement policy.
It seems the battery is so hard to replace, that after it has run it's life and you need a new battery, you take it back to where you bought it, pay for a new battery, and they give you a brand new iPad.

Thats pretty much the same for iPods and iPhones Kev...built in obsolescence also means they (iPhone batteries) dont much outlive 3 years it seems.

Not I....I'd buy a touch tablet if it had...

A) A decent storage capacity
B) Multitasking
C) Ease of transfer of files/programs (ie NOT iTunes)
D) Wifi capability...as opposed to alleged wifi

iPad fails on all fronts unfortunately...its gorgeous to look at but I cant help but feel that Apple have made a major faux pas in releasing it before equipping it with what the buyer actually wants, rather than what Apple tells you that you want!!

You pretty much nailed it Shagster.
Steve Job's messiah complex; he sits down with a calendar and marks off the dates products get rolled out. And roll out they do, whether they work or not.
