We were so organised. We put bread in the freezer, we made enough stew for 2 days and chicken soup for tomorrow in case the electricity went. Annnnnnd we got 3 inches of snow.

I went for a walk around town. Everything was closed including tescos and not only was there no snow, the ground was bone dry.

It's raining a bit more now. By tomorrow it will be all slippery and slidey.

I got these great ice grips for my boots. No slipping and sliding for me. I went for a long walk to a garage to get supplies. Its tough enough walking conditions out there.
Tesco is closed and Lidl opened at 10.

What happened to that Lidl in Jobstown is disgraceful. I feel so sorry for the decent people who have to live with scumbags like that.

Yeah that was terrible. 8 men have been arrested and are due before court.

I know we like to disparage our Gardai and our government a lot, but fair play to them for getting 50 officers on scene so quickly in blizzard conditions.. I hope the Courts throw the book at them..

Three human and one canine refugee in my house for the duration. The pipes in my niece's house froze on Wednesday night, so she, her partner and 2-week-old son are in my spare room.

Suddenly: a lot more washing up needs to be done regularly, are going through a lot more food, the fridge needs careful organising to fit everything in, the supply of nappies is of concern; and tracking which baby bottles are just washed versus sterilised is a fine art. ("Did you move those ones?" "No, those ones." "Are you sure?")

They are secretly training you in, for babysitting duties and haven't told you yet.
