Not disputing that. just saying the song captures that pretty accurately, if not intentionally....
# 33 : Monday 1-2-2010 @ 22:30
Based on sales instead of quality of music. Then again, if original interesting music won out then no one would watch it.

The Grammys are on tonight.

Wonder who will win the, always competitive, Best Hawaiian Music Album?

Lady Gaga took home the first award of the night, and her third Grammy, at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. She won the trophy for best short form music video for her Francis Lawrence-directed clip “Bad Romance” during the pre-telecast.
# 38 : Sunday 13-2-2011 @ 22:16
Bad Romance was good but I think Alejandro was a better video. Especially the first few minutes. Then it all went very Madonna.

I'm still trying to understand the difference between Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year.
# 40 : Sunday 13-2-2011 @ 22:23

Record of the Year is given to the artist who performs the song and the people who produce the track. Song of the Year is also awarded for a single or individual track, but the recipient of this award is the songwriter who dreamed up the song in the first place.

Song of the Year is for the songwriter only but record is for everyone involved in recording the song.

This is why they say grammys arent worth much.
# 42 : Sunday 13-2-2011 @ 22:27
It should really be Song of the Year - Lyrically.
# 43 : Sunday 13-2-2011 @ 23:13
Watching some of the pre-telecast now. It's great fun. That awful Lady Antebellum song has just won two awards, but there's noone there to collect because the band is rehearsing for the main event. How mean!

Some of the live music is fantastic.

Lady GaGa and Lady Antebellum were the main winners at tonight's Grammy Awards.

Country trio Lady Antebellum won five awards out of the six they were nominated for, including the gongs for 'Record of the Year', 'Song of the Year' and 'Best Country Album' for Need You Now. They were beaten in the 'Album of the Year' category by Arcade Fire with The Suburbs.

Lady GaGa, who arrived at the ceremony inside a giant egg, won a trio of awards - 'Best Pop Vocal Album' for The Fame Monster plus 'Best Female Pop Vocal Performance' and 'Best Short Form Video' for 'Bad Romance'.

Muse triumphed in the 'Best Rock Album' category for The Resistance. Frontman Matt Bellamy told the official Grammys YouTube telecast that he was "really surprised" by the band's victory.

The Teignmouth trio lost out in the 'Best Rock Song' category to veteran singer-songwriter Neil Young. It was Young's first Grammy victory for music in 23 nominations.

Elsewhere Just The Way You Are star Bruno Mars won the prize for 'Best Male Pop Vocal Performance', La Roux took the award for 'Best Electronic/Dance Album' for her debut album La Roux and Eminem won the 'Best Rap Album' trophy for Recovery.

In the shock of the night, jazz musician Esperanza Spalding triumphed in the 'Best New Artist' category, beating a group of more mainstream nominees including Justin Bieber and Mumford & Sons.
