I will have to be surgically removed from my couch, I love the Olympics, so yeah I will be watching.

Edit my favourite events the downhill, the board skiing and that event where they use stones and sweeping brushes.

Opening ceremonies this Friday.

They are having unseasonably warm weather and are using helicopters to airlift snow in for the events!

Incredible... congratulations!

There's a wee row going on about the Irish women's bobsleighing team. The Australians lodged a protest saying they should be there instead and International Court of Arbitration decided to let them in as well. So there are 21 countries in the event as opposed to 20.

Now.... the Brazilians want in too.....

Here you go, Paul.

I had to laugh at the Aussie reaction when they heard they'd got in.

Fiona De Jong, the AOC's director of sport, was delighted by the decision.

'We are bloody stoked, obviously,' De Jong said. 'I had the opportunity to speak to the girls and they squealed for about two minutes and did a happy dance.'

Thanks for that

The South Americans are furious that Aoife Hoey and Claire Bergin secured an Olympic berth despite their late entrance to the qualifying campaign.

They where probably held up because of the 2 inches of snow we had at xmas.
