According to this test http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aqtest.html I'm borderline Autistic.

The average score for the original control group of the test was 16.4. 80% of adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders scored 32 or more, compared with only 2% of the control group.

So where are you on the scale

I think that there are many degrees of dissociation that border on mild Autism.

But my opinion is that these many degrees are just personality traits and not a disorder.

No, no, I agree - they don't manifest to an extent that they interfere - moreover, they can be the source of creative ability.

My AQ is 30, But I would say I got that score due to my personality type more then anything.

I think that was Ery's point - thats what I was getting at by 'degrees of dissociation' - autism is an extremiation of a capacity which we all possess and is deeply linked to our personality type and personal proclivities.

Its another prime example of a personality type diagnosis or learning disability creeping and diagnosing every other situation. Aspergers is a recently termed condition now everyone has it.

Please dont think Im disregarding or downplaying the seriousness of the condition, not at all. It exists as does everyhting, not isolated but in a wider context.

I cant do the test cos im not on facebook grr. i have an IQ of 139 so its possible that i could score highly on that test. Lots of kids with autism are highly intelligent and talented.

ADHD is something that gets on my goat, it is often used by lazy parents and doctors.

I am not thinking that, take someone I know he can get obsessive about things, from winning, studying, he doesn't do anything in half measures and that attitude has served him well but he always says "I am a little aspergers" he isn't, he is just a highly focused disciplined person. I think we hear of this condition and it creeps into everyones description of themselves.

That is what I'm talking about, I have some obsessive tendencies but don't have OCD, though my family will jokingly say I do.
Like I said in an earlier post, I do know people with autism, and you would know she had it but there are others who just use these disorders as an excuse for their behaviour when really there is nothing wrong with them other than normal personality differences.
