I was always rather fond of EBTG's "Missing" especially in my lovesick teenagery days... glad to see that one made it up there.

The CD's I wore out from overplaying (well, the first was a cassette) were Enigma's MCMXC, Ace of Base's The Sign, Nirvana's Nevermind, NIN's The Downward Spiral, Duncan Sheik's self-titled album, and Robert Miles' Dreamland.

Feck the Spice slappers...

Good list Column. Damn - I knew I missed a couple of good artists - like Chemical Brothers, Tori Amos, Portishead and Suede.

I thing your list is deficient in that it misses alot of the most defining music of the nineties, you have basically ignored dance music.

Jam & Spoon Featuring Plavka - Find Me Usura - Open Your Mind The Prodigy - No Good (Start The Dance) Everything But The Girl - Missing The Prodigy - Firestarter Opus III - It's A Fine Day Urban Cookie Collective - The Key (The Secret) Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy The Grid - Roller Coaster Tori Amos - Professional Widow (Remix) Underworld - Born Slippy

atlas, how does the inclusion of these mean that JK ignored dance music?

Here's a fantastic dance track from '99. It's Underworld's Cups remixed by the Salt City Orchestra. Enjoy...
