Scumbags Are Taking Over The World!

# 1 : Thursday 1-7-2010 @ 06:19

yes they are. i know what you are thinking. how dare she say such a thing! seriously keep your liberal crap for someone who cares!
think about it for a moment. middle and upper class people when they have kids think and choose how they are going to support their offspring and procreate accordingly,
scumbags procreate at will and it is up to us to pay for their mistakes in taxes, handouts etc.

when you go into a hospital into a+e the majority are scumbags taking up the time of doctors and nurses with their alcohol and drug problems. decent people who have done no wrong are left waiting on trollys for days due to overcrowding. i have spent many a time in a+e with these little fuckers and have seen decent law abiding citizens have to take their turn in the queue. it is nothing short of a disgrace!

if society keeps on pandering to them the way we are doing and treat them with equal rights the way it is going we are going to have a epidemic on our hands. oh wait it has already happened!

my solution is all scumbags should be sterilised at birth to stop this epidemic from continuing. i realise i am alone in my thinking (well apart from the people who work with them, live with them and have to put up with their crap on a daily basis) and the good people of the world will listen to their sob stories and hence the debacle continues........

Ice's post sounds oddly familiar. I can't quite place where I've heard it before but if I was to hazard a guess I'd say in a hotel in Birmingham some time around 1968. Anyhow the simple solution to scumbaggery is to move somewhere where they're aren't any. Generally speaking the seaside and bodies of water seem to deter them. Also mountainous regions.

Anyway, there's no need to sterilise people. Just stop giving out free gaffs and generous allowances to everyone who gets pregnant. Start making parents responsible for their children and hand down proper sentences for violent crime on the first or second offence - not the twenty third or fortieth. Problem sorted within a few decades. Most of this is down to people who can't emotionally or financially look after children going and having lots of them who subsequebntly run amok with little or no control over what they get up to.

I think however that there are moves underway to end the culture wherby pregnancy is seen as a quick route out from under Mum & Dads roof and a few quid in the pocket. Personally, I would insist that the excess monies paid out on the basis that there is a child in the household be continually verified and accounted for so they are actually being spent on the child and not nights out and Johnny Blue. Currently, this would appear to be substantially the case.

Quarantine income !

The quarantined income can only be spent using a special card, the Basics Card, at designated stores. Tobacco, alcohol and pornography cannot be purchased using
the card.

This article isn't keen on it.

I'm sure there's some way to do it. We need to put a stop to hanging around in your pyjamas at three o'clock in the afternoon, cigarette hanging out and buggy in tow with the brood running riot about you. I'm not claiming I'd be a perfect parent but I wouldn't let my children grow up seeing me hang around town in nightwear in the middle of the day. Take a walk around the north inner city at around 2pm today. You'll see some of the worst examples of parenting to be found anywhere in the world.

Just as society has created the upper and middle classes, it has created the level you describe as "scumbag". They are not a scourge on society, they are part of society.

Perhaps all young unmarried mothers should be gathered up and taken to institutions where their children can then be removed from their inadequate care and given to better upper or middle class parents to raise them instead? I believe the nuns did a roaring trade in this type of social care in the 50's ad 60's.

None of the previous posters in this thread strike me as stupid, uninteligent or unarticulate people. Think before you jump on the bandwagon and imagine you have the right to tell others they do not deserve a place in society because of an inability to conform to your standards.

sterilised at birth ..... I hope you are alone in your thinking.

Edit: maybe this belongs in the rant thread too.

There are people out there, not spending the money they recieve from the state to support them in the areas it was intended. look after the family first, you can drink smoke and blow it where you like after that, thats my opinion on it! so it may have to be controlled with food stamps or whatever to get people to act responsibly, its a shame if it came to that! They do that in america dont they? I know they are not a great role model, but they dont tolerate what we tolerate too much of here!

You want to use the USA as a role model, and think that somehow we will end up with a less social problems and more equality of opportunity than we have now?

Well both Ice and real.lady make good points - there is no doubt that this is a significant problem, but at the same time, all that talk of procreation is a little creepy - each strata of society creates its own modes of transmission, and unfortunately, just as wealth and prosperity are transmitted, so are social problems and behaviours. 'Scumbag' is also a very Dublin term that I never fully understood. I totally take Ice's points, it just makes me so sad and disheartened that different 'codes' operate and perpetuate. Social eugenics would solve a lot of society's problems, but introduce so many also. After all, at some point, the term 'scumbag' becomes relative - what follows on, the less educated (ie 'stupider'), the less sucessful (ie 'failure'), the less beautiful (ie uglier), the less genetically well-constituted (ie 'inferior') Class is necessary, at least in terms of how human society is currently organised, but never absolute. Social issues and negative behaviours exist across the societal board. Everyone is a 'scumbag' depending upon the criteria used. Dont get me wrong - there were plenty of times particularly in the city when I was unsettled and uncomfortable and frightened of certain people, and Im not condoning anything, its just that even the worst people can be victims of systems so endemic and permeated that even they can not perceive them, invisible and imperceptible prisons.

I don't know where the term scumbag came from. It has been around for a long time and is generally considered to be a Dublin term.

My definition of the word "scumbag" would have devolved from the context I have heard it used in. The trem would not hve been used to decribe people who are underpriviliged, as Derrida suggested, but would be used to describe people who by virtue of their actions have no respect for society, its rules or its citizens.

This would cross many social strada, in my opinion, would include bankers like Seanie Fitzpatrick et al, politicians like Ivor Callelly and the usual suspects like muggers, rapists, paedophiles, drug dealers and those who engage in anti social behaviour just for the fun of it.

No, but some of their practices should be adopted here!
