In answer to the OP, of course deaf people should serve on juries. I usually make up my decision on guilt two seconds after I've clapped eyes on the miscreant. For example someone dressed in sportswear in court would be guilty by default. And even if not strictly guilty of this particular crime per se , you're doing the city an awful favour keeping the rascal off the streets for a few years.

I'm not sure juries are the place for interesting social experiments.

The comparison to women is not helpful. Women don't require interpreters. A comparison to people with an inability to speak English would be more relevant.

I'm not sure calling the idea of Deaf jurors a social experiment is helpful or relevant.

I was quoting you. Are you just trolling the thread?

With respect, Mango only used it in response to another poster, who implied that allowing deaf people the opportunity to participate in a jury was a 'social experiment', not only that he used it in a dismissive/opposing way.

No. I'm not. I know it might seem like I'm being facetious but everything I've said in the thread has been serious (apart from the Judge Dolli comment obviously). Isn't there a site rule about not accusing another user of trolling?

How about you leave enforcement of site rules to the moderators?
