LOL, no. He was young enough - about 28 - gorgeous. His boyfriend thought so too though.

there is a group of deaf people that often go the g together and seem to have such fun. its great to see them out enjoying themselves and not finding their disability anyway hindering their social life.

The most unattractive feature in anyone is usually a boyfriend.

Any deaf person I have ever met was really outgoing; maybe I am being facetious but I would imagine there is nothing a deaf person can't do that someone with perfect hearing can do, bar hearing itself.

So if I ever start dating again.

I don't think I would have a problem with dating someone with a disability as long as there was an attraction, a disability would not absolutely put me off.

Well I've met dubguy so I know for a fact it wasn't him. Think he's in his late 30s though.

Exactly, surely it's all about attraction and if two people click.

I might have concerns but they'd all be my own ignorance really.

If I thought it could work then I'd be ok.

WHAT?? I met him at the Jaipur Gourmet meet - I would have said late 20s.
That's why I was surprised when you said young enough for the other guy at 28.

I suppose it is an important question people sometimes forget and are uncomfortable in discussing the sex lives of disabled people.

That is very true.
It is like old-people sex.
Some people prefer to ignore the subject.
In some countries, prostitutes are paid by social services to preserve the sexual dignity and mental health of some people with physical disabilities that are such that they do not get "it" often enough.

No I haven't. No I don't think I would. That said, as others have written, if I clicked with that person, if an attraction existed in-spite of the disability I would not hesitate to pursue my desires.

I find this thread interesting.

Penny has it spot on.

We don't see ourselves as having a disability at all. That's why when hearing people say, you have a disability, you know, you're deaf, we have to remember their perspective.

Would I date someone with a disability, it depends on their attitude and personality, and whether we have good communication.

I have dated guys in the past with practically no english at all. I probably could have had a better conversation through lip reading with a deaf person. One of my friends parents and siblings are deaf. I never had any problem communicating with them. They are excellent lip readers.

Its all about chemistry at the end of the day. Having the right balance and attitude to life.
