I'm trying to watch The Thick of It - I know, years later.

I loved In the Loop - the movie from the same people (same actors and same writers)

A genre of comedy that will never entertain me, I'm afraid.

I recently watched the 3rd series fecking brilliant
I am a bit of a political nerd as well so..

The US version VEEP is to start soon on SkY Atlantic

I started watching Broadchurch, I wonder is it as harrowing all the way through.

Only cried twice so far.

That first fifteen or twenty minutes is terrifying.

Weeds!
I never watched it when it was on Sky all those years and only started it on Netflix after finishing the wonderful Orange is the New Black (same creator). It's quite similar in tone to Orange; about a middle-class white woman who, following the death of her husband, turns to selling weed to support her family. It's actually nicely dark in moments but always consistently funny.

The first three seasons are on Netflix UK while the whole 8 is on Netflix US (get Mediahint!)

Finished this last night. The couple of middle seasons were a bit hit and miss at times, particularly 5. It picked up again in Season 6 which had some of my favourite episodes. The final season had some great moments and lots of shout-outs to previous storylines.

Here's the trailer for Season 1.
Ignore the dated style of the trailer. The show comes right up to date by the end.

GOGGLEBOX!

It's like a real version of The Royle Family. Loads of laughs but also occassional pathos. I watched all the available episodes on 4OD today and am now downloading the rest. It's ridiculously addictive.

True, it's wonderful.

Also, Series 3 of Borgen starts next Saturday. Most consistently enjoyable of all the recent Scandinavian drama series I've seen.

It's oddly life-affirming. There's something lovable about even the horrible people (the post couple!)

Absolutely. I like that they leave in some of the off-colour remarks that people make. The people are very believable. Are the post couple in the most recent series? I've only seen three episodes, after GollumFarrell recommended it here.
