Happy Valley, Watch it on Netflix, it's brilliant!! so impressed and very engrossing.

It seems like it might be a sleepy police drama like "the bill" but the shit hits the fan really quickly.

It's nice when well written drama has believable actors.

I don't know, but I doubt it.
It's only finished up a few months.

I recommend the brand new Prime Suspect 1973 . It is a police drama set back in 1973, when Prime Suspect character Jane Tennison is starting out on her career as a lowly WPC. The institutional sexism in the police force is palpable but it's not as hyper 70s cop show as the excellent Life on Mars, also set in '73.

The police force are depicted as more restrained in Prime Suspect 1973 than LOM, but the actress who plays a young Tennison is very good. Young and eager, she has much to learn but shows great promise at a time when there were no women above the rank of sergeant and when women police officers were expected to type, do radio comms, telex and make the tea for the men!

Well worth watching, if not for the murder case for the early 70s period detail and cool music (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Carpenters, the Wailers etc.)

I was really enjoying Daredevil but halfway through the second season it's not as good as it once was. Elektra in particular is a very disappointing character. A real shame since in the comics she's brilliant.

Happy Valley is excellent, looking forward to a third series. On the back of it I took a look at the 2 part Christmas special of Last Tango in Halifax also staring Sarah Lancashire and written by the same writer, Sally Wainright. Ended up buying the box set of the 3 series. Very different storyline but the same high quality writing and acting and three dimensional characters as Happy Valley.

Catastrophe. It is such a great show. Funny from the very first episode, which, I find, is rare in comedies.

Also Veep, is very good. Wasn't a massive fan of the first season but from thereon in is fantastic.
