I have no idea what Utopia is, so I looked it up on IMDB.

I didn't buy the little girl shooting the guy. I've no problem with exaggeration or unrealisticness but I do find it hard to accept when characters act out of character. I know they were trying to make a point about Dostoyevsky but she killed for revenge so the comparison fell a bit flat. It was also a pointless reference, added to faux-intellectualise the whole thing. Overall mildly entertaining.

Estudiante, please use spoiler tags to cover spoilers that you post.

Is Utopia good? I have to admit I have a bias against English television programs that aren't comedies.

Spoilers? The episode has aired. And it's not even repeated.

I also generally don't like British drama and I think it's decent so .....

It's on 4OD, and lots of people DVR stuff so it's case of simple manners really.

People record and watch later in the week. You are around long enough to know the etiquette. This is not up for debate. Show courtesy to fellow posters by using spoiler tags.

Ah here let's not pretend this is the standard rule. The rule on every other site I've been on is that if it has only aired in the US you use spoiler tags and once it airs in UK/Ireland you don't have to use them. I believe that was the rule on Gaire for a long time, even if it has changed now, so me being around a long time doesn't make a difference. If you've DVRed a show then watch it before coming into threads discussing it. I would call that manners, rather than expecting everyone else to suit you Penny.

But it's a general thread about recommending a TV show, it's not a thread one would use to discuss it in full. If you do want to go into a bit more detail then use spoilers. Simple.

Estudiante, just use spoilers in future here if you want to continue posting plot points from current shows. Thanks.

A second series of Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror starts tonight on C4 at 10pm. Each episode is a stand-alone drama.

The first series was uneven but still enjoyable. One hour, once-off TV dramas are pretty rare these days so tune in for something a little different.
