St Vitalis Of Assisi: Patron Saint Of Genital Diseases

# 16 : Tuesday 24-5-2011 @ 23:01

I remember reading something about holy relics from the true church, Saint Domiinic had 28 fingers and thumbs, St John the Baptist had 3 heads, but most amazingly and miraculous was pope sylvester had 2 bodies. There are enough parts of the true cross to make a ship.

So how would you prove its authenticity. There is only one way the double blind VD miracle testing.

Well,I knew someone who had a relic of Padre Pio's glove, but that would have to be confirmed by a glove expert/obsessive,if one should exist, that is.

Former school marm Mary Hannafin's father Des was a religious nutter and obsessed over ownership of one of Padre Pio's mittens. Anyone who worships and reveres a mitten should be looked up.

I will sell him the other one, puts ketchup on my shopping list, relics was once big business in Europe. I am glad to see the trade is been revived.

I would say macabre interest along with the sexual (OK even if its diseases) angle will net this relic over a 100 grand.

My brother once hung a glove on the clothes line ( my mother had been off on one of her Padre Pio expeditions) he told her it was his glove, he kept kneeling before it praying..
She bate the head off him with it

Darn right it did, put manners on him

I remember wetting myself after going to visit Plunkets head in Drogheda
I took a fit of nervous laughter and had to be dragged from the church

They reckoned that if they could not beat the pagans and heathens and their idols, they had to join them by renaming idols and miscellaneous gods: "Saints".

A bit like the Muslim who refuse physical representations and imagery, but instead venerate the hand of Fatima (a body part), and the actual letters of the writing.

You cannot remove superstition from religions. You can only rename it.
