Someone said : Her talent was overrated: the gossip from her self-subtance-abuse was the main reason she attracted headlines after her first spell at "fame".
I take most issue with this, its not her fault the press and the public were only interested in her addiction, she didn't start using so she would get headlines. In fact there are dozens more artists out there with similar addictions that you never hear about because of a huge PR machine behind them, Amy Winehouse just didn't go in for that kind of representation. Which is a real pity.
Did I blame here for it?
I specifically said the gossip, the media, and the morbid attention from the "fans" was unhealthy and unbecoming.
But also, as illustrated by JK's video, she did not grab headlines recently for her talent. And she kept performing when she was not fit to do so: she was not forced onto that stage.
I do not say she "got what she deserved", because no one deserves that life of addiction and that kind of death.
I also said that her friends and family should be allowed to grieve privately, away from the media and groupies, who collectively participated (along with herself) in her downfall.
