What do you think of Irish men today, compared to other nationals? Are they mental, mad, bitchy, demanding or are they(cough) wee lovely lads? What do you think?

It depends on the other nationalities. I don't want to name any nationality in particular but there is one that is quite high on the gay scene and in my experience, they are fucking nuts.

Whether they're compared to other nationalities or not, I'd also agree with frodo 'drink too much'.
I'd also go as far to say...
- Very repressed
- mammy boys :'(
- seemingly good social intelligence... yet kinda weak willed.
- experts in bullshit and empty speech.

I say this about the country persons in general, not just the men.
As far as the 'gay community' is concerned, I wont comment, I dont know it... Yet ;-)
That being said though I believe ireland is one nation where 'perversion' as a term for specificity is obsolete! XD

Yeah, no points for guessing I'm not fond of irish. :-P

The best thing about Ireland is that it has no doors. You can leave when you want.

Surely this is one for the straight ladies I.e. Penny and foreigners like Frodo?

It's a bit hard for Irish guys to comment - we're either blowing our own trumpet saying we are great or else dislike the person we are ourselves if we saw we are all insecure dickheads.

That, and generalisations aren't always accurate and such.

I like Irish men having said that I haven't really gone out with that many other nationalities so don't really have anything to compare it to.

Maybe I should consider actively seeking to go out with someone from other countries.

Ooh, can we pick the nationality? I think you should start with a tall, blond Dutch fella, then move on to a cuddly wee Malaysian boy then finish up with a muscular Brazillian lad for dessert.

Very few of my Irish friends are with Irish women or men for that matter, and the ones that are seem to be the ones who are with whiny so-and-sos, that is just my experience and isn't a generalisation.

It seems to me that young Irish women have got a low opinion of men of their own nationality and vice versa. Grass seems greener on the other side and all that.

Irish guys love to rant and whinge about Irish girls and vice versa. on the upside all this apparent desire for foreign partners will improve our small and rather inbred gene pool.

In fairness Irish people love to rant and whinge full stop. We spend 97% of the year complaining about the weather. Yet how many times have Irish gone to Spain and start complaining that it's too hot!

FFS, the whole point of Spain in July is that it's 37 degrees in the shade.

We can't be pleased. Which is why if Irish men and women are do terrible, they are a great match for each other. Seriously, the marriage would fall apart after 2 weeks if neither party had anything to complain about!

Nail on the head Floggg.
It always surprises me how much Irish people have to complain about but if you get them to try and fix one of those issues "sure someone else will do that"
