Its the most listened to radio programme in the country, so a little surprised it doesnt have its own thread.

Anyway, the very best of luck to the razor sharp and silky voiced Aine Lawlor. The excellent broadcaster annnounced on Friday morning that she was taking a break from the programme. It turns out that this is to combat breast cancer.

She mentions it very quickly at the very end, after 2.00.00.
She calls it a break, but then says thanks for listening for the past 16 years, like she's signing off for good.

It must have been very emotional for her, though she certainly didn't show it.
