A bit dissapointed with season two of Upstart.. The wit got replaced by knob jokes/toilet humour..

I’m watching it at the moment, I recently read all the books, so it was a nice surprise when it popped up in my Netflix queue last night.

Black mirror has definitely lost its edge: it is not a fully-fledged canned Netflix "original".
Episode 1 was good.
Episode 2 is pointless and has zero "future-forward" content.
Episode 3 is an empty ego-trip joke.

I have yet to watch the new Black Mirror but I felt they overused the your mind-is-trapped-in-a-baby-monitor/holodeck trope in the last few seasons. Nosedive was brilliant though.

I'm enjoying Tales of the City quite a bit. Even if, at first, its not as witty as it used to be there are wonderful shots of the city to take in. Thankfully the Maupin humour kicks in before too long.

I watched the films ages ago but have no recollection of the characters or story line: hope this does not hinder my enjoyment of it.

Seems quit flat to be honest, and the views of SF do not make up for it, for now.
Also what about that prudish shying away from nudity?

Who would believe that most people sleep with underwear; or that a "hot" guy wearing a slanket ironically, would have underwear under it?

Episode 1 and 2 were fairly predictable but I really enjoyed episode 3. If you put aside music tastes the subjects, the idea of extracting ideas from a person and using an AI to form it shows BM is still pushing AI paranoia at an Elon Musk pace.

I actually loved that episode for the absurd not-very-Black-Mirror final act.... odd but fun. Also Happy ending!!
All the songs apparently Nine Inch Nails covers/redos

i had to be told. They were sufficiently horribly for it not to be obvious.... Fair play to NIN for it.

Had a good time watching episode 3. It didn't bring on the queasy near-future-despair I usually get with Black Mirror so that's a nice change. No harm in the odd happy ending but the grim dark episodes are fun too.

Well, Season 3 of Stranger Things was an enormous let down.. Hope they hire some better writers for Season 4..
