Gays Want To Take Over Society : Homophobic Hate Speech In The Indo

# 1 : Sunday 30-10-2011 @ 16:09

lads, ive just read this shockingly blatantly homophobic article by Eamon Delaney in the Indo.First of all i cant believe this was published! Secondly it seems to be intentionally inflammatory, boardering on hate speech.

Huge outcry over it already, please read it and comment on the Indo to show them how you feel, either way..

Yes, I read it and already put it in the dumping thread!

Eamonn Delaney is a relative unknown and probably wants to make a name for himself.

i know how you feel, its diabolical isnt it? luckily by the massive amount of comments people from all walks of life are not impressed with it

unfortunately i suspect that may be exactly the motivation for the outrageous bullshit in the first place

It's nice to see that most of the comments disagree with the "journalist".

i`ll be amazed if heads dont roll for it though.....its not even balanced or reasoned.

i completely agree with freedom of the press to say things i dont agree with, but this is populist demagoguery at its worst.its a feckin rallying call

Principle 8 − Prejudice

Newspapers and magazines shall not publish material intended or likely to cause grave offence or stir up hatred against an individual or group on the basis of their race, religion, nationality, colour, ethnic origin, membership of the travelling community, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, illness or age.

This says it all I think.

On the most rudimentary level the poor fool seems to be confused that there can be a dichotomy of opinions within the gay community on issues such as marriage and adoption. He seems to want us all to walk in lock step with each other, in ways he finds acceptable, yet decries 'PC', the 'liberal elite' etc. His confusion of philosophy seems quite Palin-esque.

Even the Tide wouldn't take him out !

I think he is seeking self publicity and found what he felt was an easy tartget.

yeah ha ha the lady doth protest too much methinks........
the part at the beginning with "I was even accused of 'trading' off the fun, with my copycat denim jacket and tartan shirt, while not actually joining them."
makes for interesting reading,in a certain light

this is all very worrying.......major boycott on Indo will be in order in my circles i can tell you that

Not that unknown. He wrote a book about his time as a (junior) diplomat during the negotiation of the peace process.
