After rinsing with optrex or salt water keeping it covered for a few hours will do wonders. I used a hanky and some curtain elastic once as a temporary indoor patch.

Not what I want oozing down my cheek...

I'm sure it won't get that far.
Grab a clean facecloth and a basin of hot as you can handle water. Keep dipping the cloth in it and hold it against your eye. Then drop in some murine eye drops.
That's what I did when my eye got really sore (rubbed it with motor oil on my fingers).

Worked a treat and was much better the next day

I don't have any elastic...and I'm not leaving the house looking like this...so i fashioned an eye cover from a hanky and a sideways fitted beanie hat.

I think some alien microbes have invaded my digestive system. Had to take a rather sudden explosive number 2 yesterday evening and now the pangs are back again.
I'll keep ye posted !

No need to keep us posted 19%. Bowel movements are better kept private.

Not sick exactly..but I poked myself in the eye the other day and now it's all sore and red

Makes me feel like crap!

Are pirate patches still cool?

This happens to me when I have a mad night out, normally I just wet a cotton pad and leave it to rest on the eye for a while. It's really uncomfortable though, must buy a patch as it seems to happen a lot.

I've a really annoying cough since Saturday and it's now keeping me awake.

I'd like lashings of sympathy and expectant please?

You're better off if you have a tablespoon of honey.
And be quick about it!
