Are Women More Fluid.

# 1 : Thursday 12-7-2012 @ 15:49

When it comes to sexual orientation, do women in general tend to be more open to bisexuality, or experimentation than men?

This seems to be the opinion of a few posters in recent threads.

Has Katie perry corrupted a generation of girls?
Does a belief that heterosexual males lust over 2 girls engaging in sex/kissing lead to more girls going further than they might usually do to impress men?
Is it more acceptable for 2 girls to be intimate in public, regardless of their sexual orientation?

It has always seemed to be the norm for, lets say, female friends to be intimate in public. For example they might kiss each other on the cheeks or hug to greet each other, or link arms if they were walking down the street.

I did spot a lovely lesbian couple walking in town the other day, arm in arm, like any other couple would. It was nice to see and no one batted an eyelid.

women seem to relate to each other better than men and not just sexually.
even going back to my miss spent youth at dances / discos
Girls would go to the toilets in pairs.
would dance together etc.

I think generally speaking women tend to be more comfortable in their own skin. For men it seems to take a long time to get comfortable with themselves and secure their sexuality

It seems to me that more homophobia comes from men than women, but in many cases men are more accepting of lesbians than gay men, which includes holding hands and kissing in public.
I wonder if its in someway down to saturation, or at least from being explosed to women being more physical with each other than men from an early age.

I do think that a lot of the girl on girl crap i see in photos on face book, or in night clubs is just acting and intended to titillate and get attention.

I think some straight fems do it because straight/bi men get off on it.

i think i know what Penny means

practically every bird i hang around with in Blanch including all me mates gfs would wear the face off each other and possibly a bit of spooning but i could count on 1 finger the "affection" which would be shown if it were in private and hence not used to titilate the lads or because of an E love buzz

but then again, if i cant even understand how blokes think i havent a bog how women do ( huh huh 1 finger)

I do believe women are more fluid. not just in the sense of kissing to entertain guys.
I've brought up the kinsey scale ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale) with male & female friends. girls generally identify with it more, in that they might be straight but dont rule out possibility of ending up with a girl.

hmm.. from my experience men are more in tune with their sexuality from a younger age. any gay guys I've asked say they knew they were gay from a much younger age than lesbians I know..say 14/15 compared with say 18/19 for girls. there are of course exceptions and this is just my own experience.

maybe more accepting of it because they find it a turn on. but not accepting in the sense they can apperciate the fact that two women want and enjoy sex - without a penis in sight! I've had plenty of statements like 'you just need a bit of cock' etc to understand this is not true acceptance. I once had a guy pin me up againt a wall, after he told me he 'loves' lesbians, and kindly offered to ride me to show me what I'm missing.

huh? well to me it seemed you were talking about some guys that are homophobic towards gay men, but more accepting of lesbians. I merely pointed out they arent really accepting; it's just another type of homophobia.

I also think that many men who will have no problem with women walking down the road hand in hand, would take more issue with 2 men doing the same. And not because they get their kicks from it, but because it is more socially acceptable.

I was one of the few in the recent threads. How honored I am

I totally think women are more fluid. Mainly to do with social constructs.
