What Is The Most Boring Name?

For both boys and girls, what is the most boring name? And why?

What name would you avoid in a club? What wouldn't you call your child?

Peter seems quite boring.

Likewise Jane for a girl.

My Aunt just gave birth and they are currently choosing the name for their baby girl. The two suggestions, Robin and Aisling, do not excite me. Robin I like, but to me it is a boys name firstly and a celebrities name secondly and I feel that naming a girl Robin might come across later as a bit... skangery. Aisling to me is just so boring. No offence people.

The only red line names I can think of are Fergal or Fergus... or any variations on those themes. No way.

A name that is uninspiring to me is Paul... but that could change if I met a Paul who had the remotest spark of being interesting. For instance I am sure more people find John boring than Paul, but as my name is John I don't find it dull. I think it is fabulous.

Patrick is incredibly boring.
It's like the parents just gave up.
(No offence to the Patricks of this site (you know who I'm talking about))

Oi... Patrick is a lovely name.

You wouldn't believe how popular the name Patrick is in Holland and Germany.

I can't think of a boring name. For me it's just some people behind the name are boring and maybe that's what people attach to that name.

There seems to be more boring names for boys....or maybe parents are far less adventurous when naming boys.

It's not the names that are boring it's the people you associate with the names.

Yeah the names that sound like they would be boring (to me at least), would be bogger names like Ultan, Finton, Aonghus or Donncha. For girls it would be Dearbhal, Eimear, Fidelma or Fionnoula.

It's completely irrational of course.

I'd associate those names with south Dublin pretentiousness.

Every Patrick I have ever known was named after their grandfather.
