Someone said :
Is it illegal to deliberately possess a copy of a sensitive and confidential letter not addressed to that person?
Someone holds a copy of a confidential letter. The letter is supposed to be confidential between two parties. But one party gave the copy to a third party.

In my last job, the post room tried to hang on to post because the company was behind on rent so the directors called the police and they were forced to d to hand it over.

Unless an NDA (A non-disclosure agreement) was entered into,
either party can reveal the contents to a third party at their discretion (for advise etc.).

Not really; that's standard business procedure in any country.

The first NDA I signed was with an English company.

However, in Ireland I think there is a law the makes it a criminal offence to take items int he post. If so, it depends on how the third party got the letter.

Not illegal on the face of it, unless as Kev says, there's a prior agreement but even that is a civil rather than criminal law matter. One of the parties passed on the contents of the letter. You have not committed a crime by receiving it. It's not theft, at worst it's a civil breach of confidentiality.

If you are really concerned, seek legal advice. Place the document in the hands of a legal advisor. Unless the author is Kevin Sowdon, you should be fine.

Thanks for all the answers. I'll pass them on to someone who is concerned about this issue.

It's 2pm. Should I get up out of bed or just write the day off and lie here for the rest of the afternoon?

I'm glad I got up and went for a long cycle. Beautiful afternoon outside.

I am doing a short exercise as part of a project from college.

If I were to ask any of you about the brand Roadstone, what would you think?
