Cerdeira, Portugal

"Portuguese World Exhibition" 1940, Lisbon

"In its area of 560 thousand square meters, the Portuguese World Exhibition will receive three million visitors from June 23 to December 2, 1940. Among them will be some privileged foreigners - as the writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - that can travel in a war-torn Europe."

This picture has it all: Obvious but sort of clever photoshop, nice city scape and a nice man-arse.

The cost is low for such a journey, but page 2 (hot posted here) shows that most of the food, etc., was provided to Col. Aldrin.

A crowd in my hometown, early 20th century.

I wish I knew more about this picture. I believe it's early 20th Century and know for sure it's near my hometown as I recognize the landscape. i have no idea what the occasion was, but a striking image, I think.
