My eldest was at the bar when two young Portuguese guys were refused a drink on the bars New policy.....
So Colour of your skin obviously plays a part.....

They are playing with fire.

Definitely ..... The place has opened under new management, there has been lots of problems in the past with underage drinking, drugs found on the premises ext.....Yet they choose to target foreigners.....My son and his friends made a complaint gave back their drinks and left.....

And no one sued?
That's surprising because non-nationals and asylum seeker have free lawyers ithcing to make a few bobs from such an obvious case of crass discrimination.

I am sure that there will be discrimination cases brought against management.....However as the premises just reopened less than a month ago it is too soon.....Am sure the local newspapers will run a story shortly......

What I do not get is that if racism is fueled by recession, why refuse business. Not offering a job I get it: feed our "own" first (family, friends, neighbours, other nationals, Europeans, Caucasians, then Occident nations and finally others). But not take their money. Why????

In my town it's the US and Them attitude that really pisses me off.....A family member once berated me for shopping in what she refered to as ' that foreign shop '.....I was disgusted and told her to get a life.......
Racisim is rife where I live, and if I hear ' Our wee town is not ours anymore'....I will scream!.

About the Portuguese guys,then it is racism.How come the police have not acted upon this?

Police?.......Try finding them in my town, only time we see them is during a wee fleg protest or when a row kicks off outside one of the pubs or nigjtclubs....Until someone makes a formal complaint then this sham policy will continue..... The local newspapers are the best way to go, highlight what is going on, I mentioned it to a few friends in high places so am waiting to see if they act on the info....

Jesus, I can only imagine what would happen if some hapless foreign tourist wandered in....

Meself and Gollumfarrell from Gaire were up in Belfast recently for a fantastic weekend, and whilst the vast majority of pubs we went to were extremely friendly
we did have some hairy moments when the Dubs accent came out (and it was in a
Nationalist area surprisingly!)
