What buildings/architecture/rooms really left an impression with you? From the epic to the sublime, the artistic to the historic. What has really grabbed you in terms of architecture?

Inside of Kenturk Castle in Co. Cork is fascinating.


Oslo Opera house. Based on a glacier sliding into the sea.


35,000 peopled Esprit arena in Dusseldorf for eurovision 2011. EPIC!

Yale University took my breath away is it truly stunning........

A few of my favourites which might be less typical from around Ireland would be

Church and bell tower of St Anne (Shandon)in Cork City


the beautiful Victorian greenhouses in the Botanic gardens


The Poolbeg Generating Station seen from the roof Croke Park,both favourites of mine


Crumlin Road Jail, in Belfast,and its secret execution chamber which haunts me to this day

The facade of Wexford county hall. It looks like a castle and I tend to like those, being big history-nut.

Of course I did! That's why I said "buildings that capture your imagination". I was the cleaning wench who emptied the chamber buckets and baked bread without washing my hands (a vicious cycle) and was persistently sodomised by the huntsman but enjoyed it because "It was our little secret" and "I'd get in trouble too".
