The News...According To The Media

Is it me or do the media (Meeja)seem to be setting the news agenda more so that reporting on it?

Two examples - there is no news about the new management for Irelands soccer team, but that does not stop the headline news on the hour reporting that news is expected soon on this front. The second is the property tax for 2014. Yes there are issues but seems to be driven almost entirely by the media. They love creating a story and stirring up a maelstrom of anti-govt sentiment. They blame the revenue, opposition blame the government.

It is all so borrrring and childish. Give us some real news please!

It's all a game. I call it the "noose", not the news.
They pay lip service to important stuff like the promises politicians made during election campaigns which they blatantly broke - 10 minutes of lip service - then "that's all we've got time for".
It's the same with the Anglo bail out.
It should be in the news every day until the guilty are punished and the system is fixed.
Those who control the news media control the government.

They've been doing that since the day of the town criers.News is all about spin, angle and misdirection. Its far more subjective that most people realise.
