Wow - ordered a cheap phone on Amazon late last night, selected the free super saver delivery which takes 3-5 days, but its apparently being sent by courier and will arrive later today.

I love the super saver. I've often ordered stuff and gotten it next day with it.

Edit: Although Amazon are evil and no-one should shop there.

Beware, lately Amazon has been flooded with these "honest" reviews which basically amount to lots of reviewers giving considered reviews in exchange for receiving the item for free. Some products I was interested had 100s of such worthless reviews.

I'm always very wary of so-called impartial "reviews" of products and hotels online.

I switched to The German site two years ago Amazon.de when some stuff I ordered got shipped from there .

You pay in Euro, they have a translation setting to English .

Yay - Amazon has banned incentivised reviews now.

There are some products they just can't ship outside the UK not because they don't want to but because of trade restrictions.

Don't understand that Its the shop owner who decide that because I bought a vacuum cleaner and by some shop owners stood no delivery to Ireland and another one with the exact same vacuum cleaner did deliver to Ireland

Use Parcel Motel, you can use their address in Northern Ireland and then they ship it down to your nearest collection point. I use them all the time these days.

An Post have adress pal, which is very handy for buying from any UK site,
Delivers to a shipping address there at local rates and then you just collect it at your local post office, which is very handy, you pay something then.
It's very convenient .

This is happening all the time lately. I wish they would make it clear in the search results if an item can be delivered to Ireland.

The problem with Parcel Motel and the like is when Amazon splits up your order willy nilly.

With the An post deliverypal you have a UK delivery address and then they deliver from there to you, so you don't face geographic restrictions.
They usually say if an item can't be delivered and why ?

Yes they usually say if it can't be delivered ... after you click into it. I'd rather see this info upfront or have a toggle to not see the product at all as an Irish customer.

Say you order four things on Amazon, very often they will split the order up and then you would end up paying twice on Parcel Motel, etc.

Are they allowed to exclude for geographic location now?
Thought that ended...
You can ask for delivery at the same time if it's the same supplier but if it's different ones then they send them when they like - I suppose you just have to choose wisely .
