Uh..yes. Unless you wanna get super technical with the definition of 'club', but there are plenty of places with dance floors and not a single dancy house shit tune in sight!

Your issue seems to be with dance / house music though. Wasn't H.A.M a hugely popular club night back in the day? Maybe Sweatbox is trying to target that market again.

I would say close to half the straight bars and bars in Dublin are more indie leaning than dance. But they definitely offer a MUCH wider choice of music.

The same nights would work if they played a wider range of music, a bit if dance, pop, rock, indie, soul. That would appeal to me. That's sort if what Q&A did and it was amazing. Best night ever.

I remember there being different rooms for the different types of music. Well when it was on in The Vaults anyway.

You would need a massive venue for that.

Yes that's true , but I imagine that only 3 or 4 types of music could be catered for in any venue in town.

Or you just play lots of different types of music, lots of DJs do that.

Again true but I was talking about venues that would have different types of music in different rooms for a club night.

Like nearly every straight bar in the city.

I can only think of Whelans, Fibbers and Bruxelles.

Grand Social, Workman's Club and others I can't think off right now.

There's one called Poison, I think, which is purely Metal and Hard Rock, also the Mezz, that old place by the Liffey (Voodoo Lounge!),....

The Bernard Shaw...

I noticed that Alt or War have gone and pinched Partie Monster from another promoter, she's been doing it since 2007. I know it wasn't her idea either but they changed it from Partie Monster to Party Monster, I mean that's just cheeky.
