You can grill meat....

Yoghurt with fruit and nuts (not 100% carb free but 100% carb free is stupid, don't do it)

Salmon

Some vegetables like tomato, mushrooms etc can be nice for breakfast

Hoummous and raw veg....

There are actually several low carb, no carb and healthy carb options.

Eliminating carbs completely is not a good idea at all. Stuff like bread (and all bread-like products: biscuits, toast, wraps...) pasta and rice can be eliminated but you should eat some carbs, mainly from pulses, fruits, veg and potatoes.

wait, i didn't think fruit were carbs anyway? Was just gonna give up the white carbs - bread, cereals, pasta etc and only for a week to see how i felt afterwards. Will prob eat potatoes and rice still as they arent processed.

lol Perhaps before giving up anything look up the basics and try to understand what are carbs, protein and fat...?

Amazing how many adults these days still can' grasp a concept I knew since primary school? Dafuq do they teach you these days?

There are all kinds of carbs (by which I mean foods that have a significant amount of carbs) from bread to sugar to potatoes, pasta, grains, rice, all.... basically all the foods that are quickly made into different sugars as soon as you eat them. Sugars here is not the shit you buy at the store but the simpler sugars like glucose that your body will be using for energy.

Obviously some carbs are way better. Sugar and white bread are useless, basically just calories with little nutrients, sugar especially is poison.

Things like grains have and pulses have carbs too but also plenty other good nutrients plus fiber, as well as taste. So eating beans is always preferable to eating bread.

no i knew most of that but i thought sugars were in a category of their own rather than considered carbs...

Yea, I was taught to treat sugars separately at school too. In Science anyway.

No they're all carbs. Of course carbs is short for carbohydrate, "a component of food that is used mainly for energy in the body". Potato is not "a carb" it's a food composed mainly of carbs but plenty of other stuff as well (water, fiber,....).

Sugar on the other hand, and apart from some impurities, is nothing but carbs. It's pure carb and that's what makes it so deadly. That and the fact we only started eating pure sugar very recently in evolutionary terms and therefore our bodies are not designed to handle this refined and artificial food. Sugar doesn't occur in its pure form in nature, it's refined just like petrol is.

Yum!

Had fish tonight as well, by accident and laziness rather tahn design. Just some preserved raw fish that's apparently Scandinavian style with some yummy salad a couch surfer prepared, with lettuce, fruit and mayo and perhaps potato, not sure. ate it while Interneting!

Going well so far: The trout was delicious. As were the spinach and spuds. Just had the potatoes with sea salt and butter. Have to eat the rest of the trout tomorrow and my sister is cooking it so we'll see how day 2 goes.

Good luck. I could do with a few days of no meat at all myself.
