Has Anyone Been To Africa?

Just south of our little European Union of cheap city breaks and holidays in the sun lies the enormous land mass of Africa, taking up our maps with its gigantic size, ongoing documentaries of its wildlife and where it all began with us as the human species. I've never been but there are so many sun draped places on the continent I would love to see. Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt are obviously the cheaper options and worth taking up (or maybe not) but has anyone been further afield? Is there anywhere in Africa you would like to go or is it just too foreign?

I imagine Africa is going to open up very much so in the next decade and with cheaper and cheaper flights, where would you like to go?

it's kinda far away n' stuff

I heard that Ethiopian Airlines will be doing flights direct from Addis Ababa to Dublin soon. What was Ethiopia like? or Addis Ababa? Was it cheap? safe? friendly? lively?

You are seen as a "cash cow" to the locals and will constantly have clouds of "touters" hanging around.

Not a recommended way for a holiday, in my opinion.

Lovely scenery and all that but unless you want to stay in compounds, can be dangerous.

South Africa-Durban, zim, Namibia,Congo,Kenya Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana all business now, not holidays.

You really can't stroll around cities there like Europe.
Certainly not alone, in my opinion.
Always a bit of element of risk, which is not conjucive to a relaxing holiday.

Had ya not the ladies dripping like a lorry full of sand at a traffic light?

And you found all those cultures and people that similar to warrant it unsafe to go to all those places?

Absolutely,Seriously damp lasses ' putting out' in the Harare Hilton.

Proper forward little minxes, who seemed quite keen on white cock and making no 'bones' about it, if you pardon the pun.

Problem is I don't really want a dose of the scabs or worse.

didn't see your last bit, now I'm only giving my take on my experiences, others my feel differently, but for me, just too much hassle.

Even Windhoek, Namibia? The one city in Africa I would love to go to followed by Addis Ababa.

Could be a little better there, formerly German South West Africa, wasn't there, up in the "strip' which borders Zim at Vic. Falls and the Chobe game reserve in Botswans.

Was a flight boarding for Windhoek when I was in Vic falls and the look of the punters wouldn't lead one to believe Windhoek was 'party central' that's for sure.

You should Google it and just head out there, it's probably lovely.

just tunisia. Loved it. Absolutely loads to do if you are a fit person and not me. All the the food etc was fab and really cheap. Only downside was all the hotel staff asking for tips and trying to keep your change. Also in the cities all the hustlers trying to get you to their shops etc.
