Ireland Has Fastest Growing Property Market, Another Boom?

# 1 : Tuesday 9-12-2014 @ 16:07

Knight Frank's third quarter report on global property prices has found that Ireland has the world's fastest growing property market after prices increased by 15 percent in the year to mid-September. That means that prices are growing at three times the speed of the most optimistic forecasts for the rest of the economy.

Looks like we are having another boom! It's things like this that make me think Ireland deserves everything it got after the last one.

I think (hope) things will change next year with the changes in loans coming in. With less people able to afford houses the prices might drop.
I certainly wont buy now, i have too many friends paying off mortgages that are 3 times the value of their house.

Do you have to be such a smart ass, are the Government not doing anything about the rise in prices. So it'll mean more property tax, for the Government and a more squeezed citizen?

Conspiracy theories can sound life wolf calls. I'd say the current lack of action is more about the fact that people will shaft them if they tried than the few million they'll gain over the remainder of thei term.
