Do they play some kind of Christian Rock?

A Death Metal band? I seriously doubt that!

Though America is so weird they have Christian Black Metal bands! That makes much sense as 'flammable water"

I haven't listened to them yet, still suffering from the rivers of beer I drank last night.

Once I'm back to normal I'll have a listen and read the article too.

Howdy!

I wasn't at any festivals this year but two friends of mine (couple) were there with their caravan and handful of friends All the way from Dublin. They had a great time at the fest and an epic trip!

Welcome aboard biguy666.

@Frodo, I'm okay with non-full blown metal. Think heavy metal has come a long way to be an umbrella term anyhoo

Yeah, of course. I just don't wanna see this flooded with shitty rock songs. There's many other music threads so this one only makes sense if it's kept for "real" Metal only, and not rock n roll and other stuff, sometimes thrown into the Metal shelf.

This doesn't mean I don't like rock, I do, but Metal is my life!

Nerve and muscle, heart and brains
Lost to Ireland, lost in vain
Pause and you can almost hear
The sounds echo down through the ages
The creak of the burial cart
Here in humiliation and sorrow
Not mixed with indignation
One is driven to exclaim
Oh god, that bread should be so dear
And human flesh so cheap

(extract)

Quite possibly the finest song Dublin's finest Metal has ever crafted.

The kinda song that still gives you chills and shiver down your spine ten years later!

Young hearts are born with such grief
We have paid the penalty of truth
A season of our stolen youth
Shall teach old hearts to break.

Few bands can pull off Black Metal live in concert like Marduk can, thogh in this particular performance his vocal performance is poor.

D.R.I. 2015

I met the new drummer, Brandon, before the gig in Munich last July and he is a great guy! We talked for ages about all kinds of stuff not just the touring and music but also Europe and America and social issues, all kinds of things. He's such a sweet guy too! It was the first time I saw him live and it's a joy to see him smile like 1.30 straight while drumming the hell out of those drums!

A bit scary that DRI now has a member that is younger than me tough, LOL!!

There seems to be no limits for what iron Maiden can pull off!

They just announced a massive world tour for 2016, including places like China and El Salvador where they never played before.

Brucie is currently training to fly a Jumbo as he will be flying the crew, equipment and rest of the band in the huge plane! Rock on, Brucie, rock on!!!

VOCALIST BRUCE DICKINSON TO CAPTAIN AND PILOT A BOEING 747-400 JUMBO JET TO PLAY IN SIX OF THE SEVEN CONTINENTS TRAVELLING OVER 55,000 MILES (88,500km) AROUND THE GLOBE

“THE BOOK OF SOULS WORLD TOUR” IS EXPECTED TO VISIT AROUND 35 COUNTRIES
INCLUDING FIRST EVER CONCERTS IN CHINA AND EL SALVADOR

NEW STUDIO ALBUM “THE BOOK OF SOULS” IS RELEASED WORLDWIDE ON SEPT 4

IRON MAIDEN, whose new studio album The Book of Souls, their first for 5 years, will be released worldwide next week on Sept 4, are taking touring to a new level using a Boeing 747-400 Jumbo Jet (aka Queen of the Skies) for their World Tour next year. Vocalist Bruce Dickinson is currently in training for his licence to fly the massive four engine jet, which is almost twice the size and over three times the weight of the Boeing 757 used on previous tours in 2008/9/11 (see the comparison grid below of the Evolution of Ed Force One). The new Ed Force One will take the band, crew and over 12 tons of equipment more than 55,000 miles (88,500km) around the planet with concerts in six of the seven continents (Australasia, Asia, North and South America, Africa and Europe) with The Book of Souls World Tour 2016 expected to visit around 35 countries.

A fucking amazing live performance by Amon Amarth, they were on fire! I was there, somewhere among those thousands.

Altogether now:

Oden! Guide our ships
Our axes, spears and swords
Guide us through storms that whip
And in brutal war!!!

And another one from the same gig:

Standing firm against all odds
guarding the most sacred home
we protect the realm of gods
our destiny is carved in stone

three evil giants
of the south
are constantly on the attack

with lies and fire
from their mouths
but we always send them back

we are brothers
of the north
who are sharing the all father's blood

marching down the left hand path
we are spawned by Asagods
'cause we are!

we're the guardians
guardians of Asgaard
guardians
guardians of Asgaard
guardians
of Asgaard

we have faced our enemies
a thousand times or even more

still they cannot
make us kneel
one thousand years of constant war
the giants look for
any chance
to bring down Asgaard's mighty walls
no matter what they send at us
we will never let it fall
'cause we are!

We're the guardians
guardians of Asgaard
guardians
guardians of Asgaard
guardians
of Asgaard

Standing firm
against all odds
we are guarding
Asgård's mighty walls
we protect
the realm of Asagods
no matter
what they send at us
we will never
let them fall

We're the guardians
guardians of Asgård
guardians
guardians of Asgård
guardians
guardians of Asgård
guardians
of Asgård
