You are a troll . Fact, stop trying to blame everybody else it's you .

Just treat everyone equally, no matter how childish and Happy New Year.

This must reflect the government no solutions being offered to fix the lack of apartments and offices in the city centre or the dying towns.

The state should create a housing agency, so that it can take in all the social housing stock and use the income to borrow if need be and build more modern housing. Maybe Nama, could be used to do it and sort out this problem once and for all.

Income?
Local authorities are already the main providers of social housing.
If anything it would cost more, and create more delays if managed directly by State centrally...

Why aren't they building upwards? its the only solution. Turn Dublin into Manhattan. Ireland is turning into the States anyway with all the suburban malls and motorways you need a PhD to navigate through, self driving cars, automatic lights on entering a room, machines to scan your groceries... build up is the only way forward.

Maybe retirement units, near Golf courses/Nursing homes/Primary care center's and you'd be able to keep the retirees fit/healthy/GP/Nurse on call 24/7.

Yes but Retirees and downsizers want to live in their communities where they always lived they don't want to move to new neighbourhoods .
What you want is the ability to provide a range of services so people can remain as independent as long as possible.
Whether fg/ff would do something like this and burst the housing bubble is open to question.

The government need to encourage builders to build affordable housing, there should be no height restrictions in designated areas, the ban on renting properties under the fair deal scheme for nursing homes should be removed, so more houses are released for rent, we desperately need apartments and small housing units, all the government talk about is 3 bed semi houses, I don't need one, there is only two of us, and there are plenty of other people out there, who have no desire to have kids or get married.

What happens to properties under the fair deal scheme?
