I am talking about the people, who have to work and not get a chance to rest from the three weeks of shopping prior to Christmas day.

Ah right
I thought you were pissed off at shoppers.

If I was a post graduate student without an income I would relish working in a bright, warm environment with a buzz going on,that would be a holiday to me.

I got a suit half price in Brown Thomas, and an overcoat for less than half price in Kildare village, very hard to find stuff132D3213 which is average size, sales would be good if you're smaller or bigger than the average person

Hope it's not for the €22 fry up?
Had one a couple of weeks ago and I've had better breakfasts in Texaco.

Bought a Panasonic TV in Power City this morning. Got €70 off it. Was watching the prices before Xmas. Happy enough with that.

People have to work in the shops though, I feel for retail staff at this time of year.

I did a lot of retail in my day and there is no better buzz than the retail coming up to Christmas and working in the city is the best!

Even had my own store for 7 years

I'm in work all weekend. You don't hear me complaining. If it has to be done it has to be done. Retail staff get Xmas day off. Plenty of people have to work on the day itself.

Jesus

If you were a retailer and you closed
the busiest 2 days of the week how long do you think you would stay in business I am a retired retailer. Its not an easy business but one accepts that when going into it and your investment can only survive on turnover or you will end up bankrupt even loose your family home ... the worst scenario

Sunday then, people need a break from all the consumerism and waste created because of it.
