You're probably better off getting a new one because you will may need a new needle for an old one and they can be hard to replace.

Needles in the new ones are far superior and don't get banjaxed like the older ones.

If you want something built like a brick shithouse for carting about as a DJ. Buy an SL1210.

If you want audiophile sound quality? Look elsewhere.
It's a good deck, but at that price point there is an awful lot better for home use.

Are you plugging it into an amplifier or do you need a complete system?
If you have an amp/system with a phono input, there are loads for sale 2nd hand on Adverts.ie.

The posts above with the 'all in one' or the USB one are helpful of course, but the sound quality will be atrocious (and I'm not being an audio snob, it will sound like a set of €5 computer speakers in a biscuit tin).

Here's an old Lenco for sale in Dublin for €40 (you will get it for less).
The seller doesn't really know their stuff, but it's got a built in phono stage, meaning it can be plugged into the line inputs of any amp/hifi that has them.

It won't win top marks for sound quality, but judging by the pics, it's an old L76, which will give you a much better listening experience than modern cheapo crap.

NB: I think (big think), I've an old Aiwa turntable with a decent cartridge and stylus in the attic somewhere.
If I do dig it out, you can have it.

A Technics 1210 is the only baby for to listen too Vinyl on..

Did you see they are bringing a new 1200 out this year?
They have supposedly cured the issues direct-drive TT's have regarding motor vibes.
I think it's going to have a ridiculous price though. Putting it in the same price point as VPI and Rega

Sound quality is subjective of course. But nobody is going to say a Technics turntable is the best .

Because it's far from it
