The lords of Lotto acknowledge that the odds of a jackpot win are 10.7 million to one, but that if you buy a second ticket, the odds are slashed to only 5.7 million to one, this is absolute nonsense, but I can't explain why. Any one out there cute with figures to back up my claim.?
Should be right. If there are 10.7miion combinations of 6 numbers and you have two tickets (for the same draw) then you've a 1 in 5 million chance. The odds of winning ANY prize would depend on how many numbers are in common on the two lines.
